Paul-Gordon Chandler to leave St. John’s Church-Maadi, Cairo

Canon Paul-Gordon Chandler, a mission partner of the Episcopal Church serving in Egypt, is moving on from St. John’s Church-Maadi, where he has served as the rector for the last 10 years. St. John’s Church-Maadi, the international English-speaking Episcopal church in southern Cairo, has a congregation of more than 30 nationalities that welcomes people from many denominations and faith traditions, primarily from the diplomatic, academic, NGO and business communities. The church as been a center for Christian/Muslim relations for over 80 years. Chandler, an author and noted interfaith advocate in the Middle East, is also canon of All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral, in Cairo and the founder of CARAVAN, an interfaith arts movement. He will be moving to Chicago for a short sabbatical, from where he will lecture and write.
