Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard, Chief of Police Phillip Sanchez, and Health Director Dr. Eric Walsh joined other dignitaries, guests, students and faculty at the campus for the celebration, which included a ribbon cutting for the Minuteman Café. Attendees enjoyed free food samplings prepared by Maranatha’s Chef Jason along with his personal army of Cooking Club students and Le Cordon Bleu interns, as well as live music and vendor booths handing out samples and gifts.Chef Jason Francisco, the school’s Le Cordon Bleu trained head chef, came to Maranatha with one primary goal: To revolutionize school cafeteria dining with farm fresh fruits and vegetables, grass fed, hormone-free beef and chicken, homemade sauces, marinades, salad dressings and more. Chef Jason and his team have succeeded in transforming ordinary break and lunchtime offerings into healthy, gourmet meals.
