Nenshi to propose using $52 million surplus for flood recovery by News Staff Posted Jul 19, 2013 10:51 pm MDT Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi is suggesting the $52 million tax surplus now be used on flood recovery efforts.Nenshi made the comments on CBC Radio Friday, adding he will be making a proposal to council about the move.He said while the province and the feds are saying they will take care of much of the costs, there will be some that will not be covered and setting aside the money is a good idea. The mayor wouldn’t comment earlier this month on potentially using the $52 million when asked by reporters at City Hall.
