Wildlife Refuge Advises Motorists Of Scheduled Funny River Road Pile Burning

first_imgFacebook0TwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享Fire Management Officials from the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge will be conducting a prescribed burnbeginning today, January 31, and lasting through Friday February 2. The Refuge advises that motorists use caution while driving between Mile 4 and Mile 7 of Funny RiverRoad, as smoke may be temporarily present along the roadway. Burn Boss, Mike Hill of Kenai NWR: “Conditions are favorable due to snow cover. Smoke produced from the burn is predicted to disperse to the south away from Funny River Rd, the Soldotna Airport, and the city of Soldotna.”center_img The burn will be located along Funny River Road, at Mile 4.5 and at Mile 6.25. The prescribed burn consists of slash piles created in 2016 as a result of a hazardous fuel reduction project.last_img
